Jon Greene is a director, theater-maker, performer, and arts educator based out of New Orleans. He holds a BFA from Boston University, trained with Italian Commedia Maestro Antonio Fava, and is a Kennedy Center Directing Fellow.

His work places strong emphasis on exploring the surreal and semi-comic nature of physicality and its intrinsic link to great storytelling and honest emotion. With a directorial vision driven by cinematic observations and the blending of disparate genres he is in constant pursuit of that special place where expressiveness mutates entertainment, distraction bows to action, and the fantastical forces of art compel audiences to question the nature of reality.

He a 2-time New Orleans Big Easy Best-Director winner “Faustus” (2016), “Barbecue” (2020), and has had his productions nominated over 15 times, selected for ‘The Top Ten Plays of the Year,’ and seen by over 3000 NOLA theater-goers.

He is the Artistic Director of The Radical Buffoon(s) a company devoted to creating work that is outsize in scope, idea, or presentation; physically evocative; socially provocative; couched in humor as a vehicle for storytelling; and appropriately representative of his New Orleans home.

He has developed, directed, and performed his work at Tulane Shakespeare Festival (NOLA), The Old Marquer (NOLA), Le Petit Theater Du Vieux Carre (NOLA), The New Orleans Museum of Art Besthoff Sculpture Garden (NOLA), The Art Klub (NOLA), The Fortress of Lushington (NOLA), The Vineyard Playhouse (MA), The Open Eye Figure Theater (MN), Mary's Cabaret (IL), The Indianapolis Fringe Festival (IN), and Center Stage Productions (Singapore). He has also collaborated with The Nola Project, Rockfire Theatre, Lux Et Umbra, In Good Company, Mondo Bizarro, Artspot Productions and The Bricklayers.
